Our First sermon - Truth in a time of confusion

Welcome to the first sermon from TriFlames Church. We are a church without walls, without borders, and without compromise. We are fully online and fully committed to the unchanging truth of God's Word.

TriFlames Church began in simplicity — just a few believers, gathered online across state lines, hungry for God’s presence and committed to His Word. Week after week, we prayed together, supported one another, and encouraged each other to live out real faith in real life.

Over time, something beautiful happened. The more we gathered, the more we felt God calling us deeper — not just into community, but into purpose. Like three sparks converging into one flame, we saw God uniting our hearts and calling us to build something lasting.

That spark became TriFlames Church. A ministry without walls, led by the Holy Spirit, and focused on spreading the fire of God’s truth and love across every screen and into every soul willing to receive.

Let us begin in prayer.

Father God, we come before You humbled and hungry for truth. The world is loud and deceptive. But You are not. You are steady. You are pure. You are righteous. As we open Your Word today, cast out every confusion and awaken every sleeping heart. Let this message burn away the lies and ignite our spirits with conviction, boldness, and clarity. Let TriFlames Church be a light to the lost and a flame that never fades. In Jesus' mighty name — amen.

Let’s begin in John 14:6:

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

This verse isn’t vague. It isn’t suggestive. It is definitive. Jesus doesn’t present Himself as one of many guides — He boldly declares that He alone is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. That claim flies in the face of modern relativism. It isn't polite. It isn't politically correct. But it is absolute, and it is eternal.

Today, we live in a world where truth is no longer something to be discovered — it’s something to be invented. People are told to "live your truth," as if truth is personal property. They are taught to follow their feelings, as if feelings are flawless guides. But the heart is deceitful above all things, and truth — real truth — is not a matter of opinion. It is a matter of alignment with God’s Word.

We are witnessing a culture that has abandoned truth for the sake of convenience. There is no longer a desire to pursue what is right, but rather what is popular. Truth is treated like a fashion trend: here today, out tomorrow, always subject to revision by influencers, institutions, and emotional whims.

This isn’t just confusion — this is spiritual warfare. The enemy has weaponized doubt. He doesn’t need to turn people into full-blown atheists. He only needs them to believe that truth is subjective. Because if truth is subjective, then sin becomes a lifestyle, repentance becomes unnecessary, and salvation becomes meaningless.

Without truth, there is no justice. Without truth, there is no peace. Without truth, there is no freedom. Truth is not bondage — it is the only way out of bondage.

We stand in the gap — not to be popular, but to be faithful. We don’t cater to culture. We confront it with the Word of God. Because if we won’t speak truth in love, the world will gladly speak lies in manipulation.

The world doesn’t need more noise. It needs a clear trumpet blast. It needs voices that are anchored, unshaken, and unashamed. That’s what this sermon is: a beacon for those tired of drifting, tired of lies, tired of moral fog. The Fire of Faith Burns Eternal — and it begins by reigniting our commitment to truth.

As we continue, let us now consider the sobering words of the prophet in Isaiah 5:20:

"Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!"

What a powerful rebuke. Isaiah, under the inspiration of the Holy Ghost, was not merely speaking to his own generation — he was speaking to ours.

We live in a time when good is ridiculed and evil is celebrated. When purity is mocked and perversion is praised. The world has not just lost its moral compass — it has willfully smashed it, proudly flying a banner of rebellion while claiming enlightenment.

They call lust "love," corruption "compassion," and idolatry "freedom." But the Word of God is not confused. It does not evolve with the culture. The Word is eternal, and it divides truth from error with perfect clarity.

Let’s be honest — the battle for truth doesn’t stop at the world’s edge. It reaches into every heart, including our own. If we’re not careful, passion can fade, conviction can quiet, and clarity can blur.

But here, we fan the flame. Here, we renew the fire. Here, we hold fast to truth.

We call light light, and we call darkness darkness. Not because we are perfect — but because the Bible is. And we trust the truth of God's Word more than the trends of the world.

To go deeper, let us turn to the New Testament and read the warning of Paul in 2 Timothy 4:3–4:

"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables."

Paul saw it coming. And we are living it.

In today’s culture, many are drawn to messages that comfort rather than confront — words that affirm but rarely challenge. It’s easy to gravitate toward a version of faith that fits neatly into our preferences, one that asks little and promises much.

But the gospel was never meant to be molded around us. It was meant to reshape us. True faith doesn’t celebrate every behavior — it calls us to something higher. It doesn’t ignore sin — it offers freedom from it. It doesn’t promise a kingdom without a cross — it points us to the cross as the only way in.

The true gospel is not designed for itching ears. It is designed for broken hearts. And it calls us into repentance, surrender, and obedience.

Too many today are not turning away from church — they’re turning away from truth. They are trading in the sacred for the sensational, exchanging sound doctrine for empty slogans.

Here’s the truth, plain and simple: If your faith has never challenged your desires, your habits, or your comfort then it’s not the faith the Bible speaks of. Real faith confronts the sin in us. God’s Word doesn’t bend to our will; it reshapes us in His image. Sound doctrine isn’t just information it transforms. And we will not water down the gospel to make it easier to swallow. We will preach the full truth of Scripture boldly, clearly, and with love.

Now, let us consider the supernatural nature of Scripture as described in Hebrews 4:12:

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

The Bible is not just a book — it is a living force. It is quick, which means alive. It is powerful, which means capable. It is sharper than any earthly blade and it cuts not the skin, but the soul.

God’s Word does what no counselor, no philosopher, and no self-help book can do. It reveals who we are and what we need. It convicts the sinner, it comforts the broken, and it equips the believer.

Yet today, many have replaced the Bible with opinions, psychology, or social commentary. But you don’t need more commentary — you need the sword of truth. And that sword only comes from the Scriptures.

This Word is holy. This Word is flawless. And when it is preached under the anointing, it sets captives free.

We don’t quote the Bible to appear religious. We preach it because it works. It has power to tear down strongholds, restore marriages, heal hearts, and redeem lives. The Word is our fire, and The Fire of Faith Burns Eternal.

Let us now turn to Psalm 119:105:

"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path."

The Word of God is illumination in darkness. It does not flood your life with every answer at once — but it lights the path one step at a time.

How many of us want clarity before obedience? How many delay their calling, waiting for perfect conditions? But faith doesn’t wait for a spotlight. It walks by the light of the lamp.

The lamp doesn’t always reveal the entire journey. It reveals just enough for you to move forward in trust. God does not lead us with a blueprint — He leads us with a lamp.

If you are waiting for every answer before you act in obedience, you may never move. But if you stay in the Word, if you remain faithful to what has already been revealed, you’ll find that clarity begins to come with every faithful step.

Don’t wait for the fog to lift. Walk forward with the lamp. And trust that the path will grow brighter as you follow Him.

The Bible is not just a lamp — it is also an anchor.

In a time where moral anchors have been severed, where truth is tossed about by feelings and public opinion, the Word of God remains unchanging. Hebrews 6:19 says:

Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast.

We don’t anchor ourselves in shifting values or subjective truths. We anchor ourselves in Scripture — because Scripture is sure and steadfast.

Social media can’t be your compass. Emotions can’t be your anchor. Popular opinion cannot be your lighthouse. Only the Word of God can stabilize your soul in a world that constantly drifts.

If you feel lost, if you feel unstable, if you feel pulled in a hundred directions — it’s time to throw anchor. Not into your past. Not into the advice of man. Into the eternal Word of God.

This anchor holds. It stands. It never fails.

Next, let us revisit the great wisdom of Proverbs 3:5 through 6.

"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."

This passage is not just beautiful poetry — it is a command for survival in chaotic times.

We are living in a generation that glorifies self. Self-help. Self-love. Self-trust. But the Bible doesn’t call you to trust yourself — it calls you to trust the Lord.

Your understanding is limited. Your perspective is narrow. Your judgment is flawed. But God sees the whole board. He knows what’s coming. And when you stop leaning on your own intellect, and start leaning on His truth, everything begins to shift.

True peace doesn’t come from figuring everything out — it comes from knowing Who holds it all. And when you acknowledge Him, when you make His ways your ways, the crooked paths begin to straighten.

We don’t lean on feeling. We lean on faith. And faith means trusting God even when we don’t see the full picture.

And now, let us meditate on the promise from Malachi 3:10:

"Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it."

This is one of the only times in Scripture where God says, "Prove me."

He says, "Put Me to the test. Be obedient, and watch what I do."

This verse speaks to more than finances. It speaks to total obedience. When we honor God with our substance, our schedule, our thoughts, our relationships — when we align with Him — we come under the open windows of heaven.

Blessing is not luck. It’s not random. It is the reward of alignment. Obedience positions you for provision.

Prosperity is not greed — it is grace. When you walk uprightly, God pours out His goodness, not because we deserve it, but because we are in position to receive it.

Jesus said in John 8:32:

And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

The truth does not oppress. The truth does not confine. The truth liberates.

But that freedom only comes when we know and walk in the truth. Not a watered-down gospel. Not a culturally acceptable doctrine. But truth, raw and real.

This church exists to preach that truth. We are not building an audience — we are building an altar. We are not chasing relevance we are chasing righteousness.

We are not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God unto salvation. And we will not apologize for preaching what the Bible says — boldly, clearly, and without compromise.

The Fire of Faith Burns Eternal. And as long as we remain grounded in the Word, that flame will never be extinguished.

Let us close with a prayer.

Lord, thank You for Your Word unshakable, unchanging, and unmatched. We repent for leaning on our own understanding. We ask You to root us in truth. Give us courage. Give us discernment.

We thank You, Father, for bringing us together in this moment — across every distance and every barrier — to hear Your truth. Bless every person who has joined us for this message. Strengthen them, guide them, and let the seeds planted today grow into a mighty harvest of faith.
